grant funds
There are many sources for grant funds. Here's a few to get you started.

recycling center and landfill field trips
The Authority offers a limited number of Recycling Field Trips each semester. The Field Trips include tours of West County's own recycling facility (the IRRF) and the landfill.

worm workshops
The Authority offers vermiculture workshops, showing how to use worms to speed the decomposition of organic matter into a rich soil ammendment for your garden. Recyclemore's own Worm Lady will help your classroom set up its own worm bin and teach you how to maintain it. Please contact Cecilia at (510) 215-3021 to schedule a workshop. (Fall and winter only! We can come back in the spring to help you harvest the castings.)

P.S. Kids love it!

paper making workshops
Paper making workshops provide a great opportunity for your students to learn about recycling and resource conservation while creating an art project. To schedule a workshop for your class, call Cecilia at (510) 215-3021.

curriculum resources
There are several curricula available to aid you in teaching about waste reduction, reuse and recycling. Interested in more? Ask your school librarian to get a copy for teachers at your school to share.

We also offer curriculum workshops. Please contact Claudia Taurean (510) 215-3126 for more information.

authority resources
RecycleMore has a small collection of DVDs and other resources for teachers to borrow free of charge. See the complete listing by clicking on "authority resources" above.
